SURALLAH, South Cotabato—Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) emphasized the trimester system to campus journalists, highlighting that it helps learners concentration and enhances their mental health.
Agnes Y. De Guzman, Doctor in Philosophy major in Education Management, enlightened student journalists that this structure helps balance the workload for both learners and teachers, while also preventing exhaustion for everyone involved.
“This system balances workload for both students and teachers. It avoids burnout sa students and teachers,” she stated.
She exclaimed that the trimester system is one way to address learning gaps, this approach also accommodates diverse learning styles and creates opportunities for innovative educational experiences.
“One of the ways to address the learning gaps. This will accommodate diverse learning, this shifts opportunities for innovative learning education,” she added.
When asked about tips in handling academics and extra curricular in terms of stress, she asserted that the first tip is to identify your stress, and avoiding your stress doesn’t solve the problem.
“Tip one is to find your stress,” she said. “Escaping from your stress doesn’t solve the problem.”
De Guzman affirmed that each person has their own way of coping, emphasizing that what works for one individual may not necessarily work for another, and that understanding and respecting these differences is key to supporting mental and emotional well-being.
“Every individual has different type of coping mechanism,” the Ed.D stated.
She further explained that the trimester system enhances the educational experience for both teachers and students, and adds that students can focus properly.
“The trimester system enhances education experience for both teachers and students, learners can concentrate,” she proclaimed.
De Guzman further explained that the trimester system can boost student engagement by allowing learners to focus on fewer subjects at a time, receive more frequent feedback, and stay motivated throughout the year.
