Our country once again stands at the edge of educational reform. The proposed shift to a trimester system by the Department of Education (DepEd) is presented as a progressive step toward academic balance and recovery. However, a promise without preparation is not a progression, rather a failure in our education. No matter how appealing the reform is, it cannot thrive in a system that lacks resources to sustain it.

When the time passed, the students now and during the pandemic were completely different because the students were only inside the house and just can search and not totally focus on answering and learning the modules that teachers give them, it leads them to learning gaps.


In the times of pandemic the learning gaps of students were widened to affect academic performances, social-emotional development and overall educational quality and this time, the COVID-19 was not a good thing in terms of helping students learn especially only having a modular. 


As the secretary of Department Education (DepEd) said, applying this trimester, this helps students learn more and have a nice educational quality.
